Report :

Wolves gave their Premier League survival hopes a huge lift and plunged Burnley deeper into relegation trouble with a crucial victory at Turf Moor.
Tyrone Mears presented Wolves with their first goal when his weak headed backpass fell short of Brian Jensen, allowing Matt Jarvis to win the race with the keeper and score in an unguarded net.

And they doubled their lead two minutes after half-time when Adlene Guedioura's angled shot took a decisive deflection off Clarke Carlisle and beat Jensen.
Burnley boss Brian Laws then felt the full fury of the Turf Moor crowd when he replaced the lively Chris Eagles and the not-so-lively Andre Bikey with Steven Thompson and Robbie Blake.

Steven Thompson headed Burnley back into contention with 17 minutes left, diverting Graham Alexander's shot from the edge of the area past Marcus Hahnemann.

Burnley enjoyed long spells of territorial supremacy and were unfortunate when both David Nugent and Blake hit the woodwork, but Wolves survived a predictable late surge to hold on for three precious points.

Wolves' supporters celebrated wildly at the final whistle and with good reason.
This result not only bolstered their own position, but delivered a serious blow to one of their closest rivals in the battle to avoid relegation.
