A full and sunny Pride Park hosted a Wolves side gunning for promotion and a Derby side that are building for next season. Derby have had a good record at home and it would be a tough task for Wolves to beat them. Wolves still without SEB and Iwelumo named an unchanged side that beat Southampton.

The game kicked off 2 mins early, maybe the ref was on a promise? Wolves all in gold piled on the pressure early on and gained 2 quick corners. On 7 mins Berra hoofed a long ball to Keogh, who brought the ball down and shot first time to score. Goal! Was that really Keogh as I fell of my seat in shock. The goal was a wake up call for derby who took control of the game with Kris Commons causing havoc. A poor decision by Hennessey saw the ball go over the corner line and Derby had 3 consecutive corners, which luckily came to nothing. Savage then crossed low only for Kazmierczak's shot fizz past the post. On 25 mins with Derby piling the pressure on Wolves MM changed to 5 in midfield. This had no effect and Derby carried on creating chances. Hulse had shots saved by Hennessey and Teale, Savage and Commons were formidable, tormenting the Wolves defence. It was all hands on deck as Hennessey claimed several crosses to relieve the pressure. Kazmierczak took a stunning 30 yard freekick that dipped over the wall and past Hennessey. 1 each. This seemed to lift all of Derbyshire as they began to steam roll Wolves, with chance after chance just needing the right connection. Kris Commons was now running the show and by 35 mins this was not looking good for Wolves. It was as if there was a one way sign pointing at the Wolves goal. On 40 mins Wolves took a short corner to Jarvis whose cross reached nobody. On the stroke of half time Commons took a 35 yard freekick that was stopped by Keogh, he dwelled to long on the ball allowing Commons to cross a second time only for Hulse to head inches wide.

The second half began the same as the first with Commons robbing Berra and running into the box, crossed for Hulse whose shot was again saved by Hennessey. Wolves went up the other end with Matt Hill sending Jarvis down the wing to whip in a cross for Foley, whose shot hit the post. Derby straight away mounted an attack with Hulse turning Craddock only for his shot to be saved again by Hennessey. This now end to end stuff in the first 10 mins. Hulse this time set up Sterjovski whose run and shot was brilliantly saved by Hennessey. Immediately the ball is with Keogh who crossed for Henry only to miss from 1 yard. Derby went up the other end Commons took a cheeky corner to outside of the box, where Sterjovski side footed the ball into the net. On 62 mins Harewood replaced Vokes and began to muscle in on the Derby players. On 67 mins Kyle Reid replaced Edwards, to give us some more width. The changes began to work and Wolves were awarded a corner that was flicked over the bar by Keogh. Hulse again had a stunning shot saved Hennessey. At this point there only looked like one winner. On 72 mins Hill was replaced by Ward and from this point Wolves looked sharper. Reid, Harewood and Jones exchanged passes to feed Jarvis whose low shot hit the back of the net. 2 each. Derby still however posed a threat and Commons tried to lob Hennessy, who was miles of his line after taking a poor free kick, but missed. Jarvis on 84 mins ran down the wing and his cross narrowly missed Reid at the back post. O'Yes on 87 mins Reid went hurtling down the wing and laid of Harewood. Harewood neatly passed to Keogh and BANG the ball was in the net. 3-2 to Wolves. Na Na Na Nah Nah Na Keogh. Derby tried and tried to equalise in the last 5 mins but couldn't.
